Philippe-Alain Michaud
Philippe-Alain Michaud is curator of the film collection at the Musée National d'Art Moderne - Centre Pompidou, and teaches film history and theory at the University of Geneva. He is the author of numerous books, including Aby Warburg et l'image en mouvement (Macula, 1988), Le peuple des images (Desclée de Brouwer, 2004), Sur le Film (Macula, 2016). He has also written numerous articles on the relationship between film and the visual arts. He has also curated several exhibitions, including Comme le rêve de dessin (Musée du Louvre/Centre Pompidou, 2004), Le mouvement des images (Centre Pompidou, 2006), Nuits électriques (Museum of Photography, Moscow and Laboral (Gijon, Spain) 2007. Recent exhibitions include Le reste est ombre, an exhibition by Pedro Costa, Rui Chafes and Paulo Nozolino, Centre Pompidou (2022),Sergei Eisenstein ou l'œil extatique Centre Pompidou-Metz (2019-2020); La Beat Generation, Mnam/Centre Pompidou-Paris (2016); Tapis volants, Rome, Villa Médicis, (2012) and Toulouse, Les Abattoirs, (2012).
