Rose Lowder
Rose Lowder was born in Peru in 1941 and lives in France. She worked in the film industry (London 1964-1972). From 1977 onwards, she concentrated on the visual aspect of the cinematographic process. At the invitation of Jean Rouch and his team at the Université de Paris X, she brought together some of her research in a Doctorat en Lettres et Sciences Humaines entitled Le film expérimental comme instrument de recherche visuelle (1987). In Bouquets (1994-1995), a series of ten one-minute films shot in 16mm frame-by-frame and edited directly into the camera, Rose Lowder uses a rapid succession of shots of flowers that vibrate on the surface of the screen in an explosion of light and color.
