Lou - Ann Burkhardt
Lou Ann Burkhardt is a Chicago based portrait artist who develops a style that combines photography, industrial materials and traditional mediums in initiative formats. Her work, inspired by her diaries, reflects and illustrates the beauty of the human spirit.
Graduated in Education with a specialisation in Art, Music and Fine Arts, she studied at North Texas State University, the American Academy of Art, the Art Institute of Chicago and the Florence Academy of Art in Italy. She has also conducted independent research on Pre-Raphaelite artist Edward Burne-Jones and Ivan Albright in the Prints and Drawings Room and The Ryerson Library at the Art Institute of Chicago and many other museums in the United States and Europe.
